Adding a Vector File as a Datasource (KB-AP039)

vGIS now supports DWG and DXF Vector Files if users do not have a 3D Model file.

After clicking the "+" icon and selecting Datasource:

  1. Fill in the Identifier field using only lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens (-)
  2. Select one of the options for Visibility. You can learn more about this if you click here.
  3. Select 'DWG-DXF (Vector Lines)' from the Type drop-down box.(Using 3D Models instead? Click Here to learn the import process).
  4. Press the Select File button.
  5. Choose the vector file data source from the file browser (max recommended file size is 250Mb).
  6. Optional fields:
    1. Description:  Add unique markings to the specific data source
    2. Category: If your team sorts data sources by categories you can find them in the dropdown
  7. Click Add to complete the process (Note: You will receive a message at the bottom of your screen notifying you that your data source was created. You should now be able to locate this data source on the Data Sources page)
