UI Basics (KB-AM023)
This article gives you a quick look at all of the options given to you in vGIS AR. Follow the link at the end of the article to learn more details about each function.
AR View
- Accuracy Bubble: Tap to Open - Helps identify movement (when connected to GNSS) Tap to switch between Mock Mode & Internal Mode.
- Cursor: Identifies line of sight.
- Cross Section Slider: Slide upwards to project a slicing tool that cuts through 3D models for viewing.
- Main Menu: Opens a Menu full of options, click here for more details.
- Layers: Enable/ Disable preset layers assigned by admins. Flip to Tag tab to hide/unhide assigned tags.
- Adjust: Brings the adjust menu, slide to reposition models or use the sliders to adjust for direction/ elevation.
- Tools: Opens the Advanced Toolkit. Click Here for more.
- Map View: Allows you to view your location on a top-down map (see Map View below).
- Transparency Slider: Slide downwards to reduce visibility of 3D models.
Map View
- Accuracy Bubble: Tap to Open - Helps identify movement (when connected to GNSS) Tap to switch between Mock Mode & Internal Mode.
- Search: Tap to Open - Look up addresses and landmarks in the area.
- User Location Cursor: Displays current location of the mobile device used.
- Main Menu: Opens a Menu full of options, click here for more details.
- Layers: Enable/ Disable preset layers assigned by admins but in a map view. Flip to Tag tab to hide/unhide assigned tags.
- Maps: Select between preset Base Maps (ESRI by default).
- Tools: Adjust to customize the area of view, 360 View brings up Google Street View in the user's location (if available), Map Color modifies the map shader as needed to contrast from 3D models.
- AR View: Returns you to AR view (see AR View above).
- Compass: If user location is not on the map from moving, tap the compass to return the user to the center of the map.
Main Menu
- Issues: Opens a list of any Issues assigned to the User.
- GNSS Switch: As long as GNSS is connected to the device itself, this switch will connect vGIS to the connected hardware. Click Here to read more.
- DTM Selector: Brings up a menu to select any assigned Digital Terrain Models.
- 3D/ Surface Line Selector: Switch between different options of how to view 3D models and surface lines in AR mode.
- Edge Outline Selector: Select between Wirefame, Grid, or High Contrast Outline shaders to modify the models aesthetic.
- Team Selector: Brings up a list of assigned teams to flip between projects.
- Options: Customize GNSS, Scene, and System Settings. Click Here to read more.
- Recalibrate: Initiates the calibration process. This must be done whenever a User exits vGIS AR. Click Here to read more.
- Help: Opens a browser window to the vGIS Support Center (Knowledge base and ticketing system).
