Quick Fix: Misplaced/ Broken Georeferenced Models (KB-AP061)

Issue

After entering EPSG and vertical datum, processed models are still appearing in the wrong location or broken. Both EPSG and Vertical Datum have been confirmed and vetted.

Quick Fix

Check Unit of Measure (default is meters). If it was manually changed configuration, first consider using the default then other UoM options.

Explanation

Misplacement can either be horizontal (EPSG entry), vertical (Datum selection), or a combination of both. Broken models are often skewed or disconnected 3D shapes that do not reflect its original design. In cases where both are fully agreed upon from the team, one variable that is often overlooked is Unit of Measure. By default, the admin portal uses meters. If this was changed during the configuration, it may be that the model was designed in meters by default. As a safeguard, the portal will default to meters as a global standard and can often be the correct UoM.
