vGIS Portal - Setting Up and Updating Company Information (KB-AP006)
In the Company tab, located on the left side of the vGIS Admin Portal, you will be able to update static information about your company. Examples like your company logo, company name, and description are organized on the main Company page.
Company Information
Name: This field allows you to enter your company display name.
Disclaimer: Anything in this textbox will appear at startup of the vGIS AR application.
API Key: Administrators can generate a secure token to share with selected users/services to view the contents of the company dataset(s) and info.
Important! If you have made any changes, you need to click the “Save” button in the upper right-hand corner. Upon clicking the Save button, you will receive a confirmation message in the portal window, stating that your company has been updated.
Options
Language: Select the language you would like to have when using vGIS.
Measurement System: Select the measurement system most suitable for your company's needs.
Selection Distance: This field sets the maximum rendering distance of objects relative to the user.
DTM Offset: Here the Digital Terrain Offset can be set in meters.
Data Collection Minimum Required Accuracy: If the accuracy drops below the assigned value, app users will receive an alert message.
Enable Local Authentication: Enabling this toggle will ask users to enter their login information when accessing any team/project in this company.
Security and Access
vGIS is designed to decentralize system management. Permissions define what an administrator is allowed to do for their team.
Company Permissions: Four default permissions that can be set for teams/projects of a company.
(Note: Read, Edit, Add, and Delete are placed in this specific order for a reason. Enabling a specific permission will also enable all permissions to the LEFT of the selected item. For example when enabling Add, the permissions Read and Edit will also be enabled, but Delete will remain disabled)
Company Asset Access: Enabling this feature will allow other admins to access assets marked as "Company" or "Shared".
Field Reporting & API (Additional Options)
At the bottom of the main Company page, there will be two sections that can be used. Field Reporting enables automatic updates between vGIS and your ArcGIS Account. Note: Users will need to identify The Feature Layer URL, sign in credentials, and Security Type. There will also be a toggle to add artifacts as placemark attachments.
