Onboarding Step 5 of 6: Advanced Configuration And Concepts (KB-QA118)
In some instances, you might need to use vGIS's more advanced configuration options to address particular needs or fully exploit the system capabilities.
vGIS's advanced options include:
- Custom scripts
- Processing log reports
- Data processing reports
- Object layer statistics
- Download source files
Custom Scripts
The vGIS system allows for the manipulation of incoming data without changing it at the source. These scripts can be designed to meet specific what-if scenarios that will allow your configuration to reach the level of sophistication that is required by your company.
To access the scripts page, select an item from the mapping configuration table, and click on the "Script" tab.

Processing Log Reports
The processing log records for a particular object layer are kept in vGIS and can be accessed at any time.
To view the processing log records for a specific object layer, select the object layer from the mapping configuration table, and click on the Logs tab.
Object Layer Statistics
Detailed statistics are kept in each object layer. To view the statistics for a specific object layer, select the object layer from the mapping configuration table, and click the Statistics tab.
Data Processing Reports
You can access the data processing reports from the blue navigation menu by clicking on the System Reports section. These reports are automatically generated once a Data Source has been processed by the vGIS System. A specific system report can be searched by using the search bar at the top of the screen. Alternatively, a specific date, or range of dates, can be searched by using the date search function in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
Download Source Files
When a datsource has been uploaded locally, a copy of the file will be stored on the cloud. Admins can access these files at any time to download when needed. Right click a datasource to reveal the Edit option. Once clicked, it will bring admins back to the Data Upload screen for that datasource. The uploaded file will appear and there will be an icon to download the source file.
