Onboarding Step 3.3 of 6: Understanding Calibration and Adjustments (KB-QA115)
Positioning and Calibration
Calibrating your device sets your location and viewing direction. This helps increase the placement accuracy of Augmented Reality visuals within the vGIS environment.
There are two methods to calibrate a device:
- High-Precision GNSS
- vGIS Calibration Method (no GNSS)
High-Precision GNSS
Using vGIS with a GNSS antenna makes for an effortless experience that requires no calibration and guarantees accurate positioning.
To learn more about how to pair your GNSS antenna and how to quickly get started please review this guide.
For an explanation on how to calibrate your device once you've paired your GNSS, check the video below:
vGIS Calibration Method (no GNSS)
vGIS Positioning setup lets your devices achieve the best possible accuracy without a GNSS antenna.
For an explanation on how to calibrate your device without a GNSS antenna, please review section 2 of this guide or check the video below:
Adjustments
If your visuals are still somehow off after the calibration you can use the adjust button to fine tune the results. Follow the link to learn how to adjust your visuals or watch the video below.
