Adding Vector Data (DWG/DXF) as Datasource (KB-AP044)
vGIS supports DWG and DXF with vector data (in addition to 3D solids). The instructions below will help you upload this file successfully but if you would like to upload 3D Solids, Click Here.
GIS/ Vector Data Process
- Click "+" and select Datasource or Add Source from the Datasources page.
- Fill in the Description field. It will automatically fill the Identifier field.
- Select one of the options for Visibility. You can learn more about security settings here.
- Select 'DWG-DXF (Vector Lines)' from the Type drop-down box.
- Press the Select File button.
- Choose the file using the file browser (max recommended file size is 250 MB).
- Category (Optional) : If your team sorts data sources by categories you can find them in the dropdown
- Click Add to complete the process (Note: You will receive a message at the bottom of your screen notifying you that your data source was created. You should now be able to locate this data source on the Data Sources page.
