Overview

Base maps provide a visual reference layer for vSite AR users, supporting accurate visualization of GIS and BIM data. Administrators can upload base maps in the vGIS Admin Portal and make them available for selection within the vSite AR application.

How To

Admin Portal: Adding a Base Map

1. Access the Admin Portal.

2. From the side menu, open the Assets tab (Fig. 1).

3. Select the Base Map sub-tab.

4. Click Add Map.

5. Complete the required fields:

   • Identifier – A unique ID for the map.

   • Name – A user-friendly display name.

   • Map Type – Select from the supported formats.

   • Security Type – Choose the appropriate visibility and access level.

   • Surface Model URL – Provide the URL to the map service.

6. Click Add to save the base map.

   

vSite AR Application: Selecting a Base Map

1. Ensure you are using the latest version of the vSite AR app.

2. Open the Main Menu.

3. Tap Options.

4. Open the System tab.

5. Select Maps and choose your desired base map from the list.
