Configuration Templates and Favorites (KB-AP062)
Admins now have the ability to decrease the time spent during the configuration stage of uploading a datasource using Templates and Favorites. BIM and 3D Model sources utilize Favorites, where GIS data can utilize both Favorites and Templates.
Differences
Besides the datasource type used, Configuration Templates can be stored permanently within Components, allowing admins to freely delete the original datasource when needed. Favorites, however, use the information stored in the original BIM/3D datasource and must not be deleted.
End-to-End Process
1. Saving a Copy Config Template/ Favorite - Select a datasource that has already been configured and right click. Select either Add to Favorites or Save Template.
2. Once saved, navigate to a new datasource, right click and click Copy Config.
3. A window will appear, select the Template/ Favorite from the list.
4. Once selection is made, indicate whether to copy Colors, Layer Groups, Layer Configuration, or All Settings. You will also select which models to copy from (Note: if there are multiple models existing in the datasource, you can add a new line to copy multiple models at once). Click Copy when done.
Locating Saved Templates
To access your record of Saved Templates from your GIS data, navigate to the Components Menu and click the Data Config Templates tab.
