vSite Web: Settings

Overview

The Settings panel in vSite Web allows users to configure personal preferences for language, measurement units, image scaling, and more. These settings are designed to improve usability and streamline your workflow within the platform.

How to

Click the Settings icon located in the left-hand panel of the vSite Web interface (Fig. 1).

Settings Options

Language

Select the preferred display language for the vSite Web interface. By default, the language is set to English. 

Units

Choose between:

  • Metric (default)

  • Imperial

  • US Survey

Note: Unit selection affects only how measurements are displayed when measuring in vSite Web. All backend calculations and data are stored and processed in metric units.

Point Cloud Colors

Set the default display colors for point cloud data. Choose between:

  • RGB Colours (default)
  • Elevation-based Gradient

Scan Quality

Set the default quality at which scans are displayed. This is set to Medium by default.

Graphics Quality

Set the quality of other graphics. This is set to High by default.

Image Size

Use the slider to adjust the display size of field images within vSite Web. This can help users more easily review visual content submitted via field reports.

Hotkeys

Click Hotkeys to view all supported keyboard shortcuts in vSite Web. These are categorized as:

  • Actions

  • Tools

  • Pins

  • Panels

  • Other

Hotkeys can significantly improve navigation efficiency and minimize reliance on mouse input.

Help

Clicking Help will direct you to the vGIS Support Page, where you can:

  • Browse support documentation

  • Read Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • Submit a support request if additional assistance is required

Log Out

Click Log Out to safely end your current session in vSite Web.
