Do I Need To Buy External GNSS For vSite To Work?
No. vSite AR has two calibration methods:
- vSite Calibration: Achieves 5cm/2in accuracy when configured correctly.
- External GNSS/RTK-supported calibration: Up to 1cm horizontal accuracy.
Both have their own advantages and use cases. Although we recommend using GNSS to achieve higher accuracy results, many of our clients use vSite as is without additional GNSS hardware, which helps them minimize or completely eliminate hardware costs.
