vSite Admin Portal: Fixing Misplaced Georeferenced Models

Issue

After configuring the data and entering both the EPSG Code and Vertical Datum, processed models are still appearing in the wrong location. Both EPSG and Vertical Datum have been confirmed and vetted.

Quick Fix

Check the Unit of Measurement (UoM). If it was manually changed during configuration, try using the default value first.

Explanation

Misplacement can either be horizontal (EPSG/Coordinate System), vertical (Vertical Datum), or a combination of both. In cases where both EPSG and Vertical Datum are fully agreed upon from the team, one variable that is often overlooked is Unit of Measurement.

By default, the admin portal uses meters as the UoM. If this was changed during the configuration, it is possible that the model was designed in meters by default.
