Setting a Default Coordinate System (KB-AP060)
vGIS Administrators can enhance workflow efficiencies by setting a default coordinate system so every configuration starts with an organizations standard settings. By default, vGIS leaves EPSG blank and uses a default vertical datum of EGM2008. These settings also affect the default placement of sketches or reality capture scans taken by the App User on the field.
Follow these instructions to quickly set your default coordinate system:
- Navigate to the bottom-right corner of the main Company screen. Alternatively, you can go into any team menu to override the Company default settings.
- Select the appropriate EPSG and vertical datum that will always appear when a new datasource is uploaded (by default, the UoM will be in meters unless otherwise stated in the datasource configuration screen).
- Click Save.
- To confirm the settings, you can add a new datasource, and synchronize structure, the default EPSG and vertical datum will appear.
Important!
It is highly advised to share these default details with your team and datasource designers as any discrepancies can cause unnecessary guesswork during the configuration and process stages.
