vSite AR: AR Sliders
Overview
The AR Sliders in vSite AR provide powerful visualization tools that enhance how users interact with 3D models in the augmented reality environment. Located on the left and right edges of the screen, these sliders can be individually configured to perform one of three visualization functions: Cross-Section View, Transparency Adjustment, or Occlusion Adjustment. Users can also disable one or both sliders entirely through the settings menu, tailoring the interface to their specific workflow needs.
How To
Using the AR Sliders
Each slider (left and right) can be customized independently to perform one of the following functions:
Cross-Section View
Drag the slider to slice through 3D models and reveal internal structures or layers. This is useful for examining subsurface infrastructure or verifying internal alignment.Transparency Adjustment
Adjust the opacity of 3D objects in the AR scene. Reducing transparency helps you see through digital assets to view real-world context or other underlying layers.Occlusion Adjustment
Fine-tune how virtual objects interact visually with real-world elements. This is ideal for scenarios where precise spatial awareness is needed, such as visualizing a utility line intersecting with a real-world obstacle like a tree or fence.
To use a slider (Fig. 1):
Tap and hold the edge of the slider (left or right) to activate it.
Drag up or down to adjust the assigned visualization function in real time.

Customizing Slider Functions
To customize the function of a slider:
While in AR View, locate the three-dot icon just beneath the left and right sliders.
Tap the icon to open the slider settings menu.
Choose one of the following options:
Cross-Section View
Transparency Adjustment
Occlusion Adjustment
The selected function will be applied immediately to the chosen slider.
You can configure each slider independently to suit your workflow—for example, assigning Cross-Section View to the left slider and Transparency Adjustment to the right.

Disabling Sliders
If the sliders are not needed, they can be disabled in options (Fig. 2) individually:In Main Menu > Options > System, set both or either the Left or Right slider to Disabled.
This will remove the slider from view and prevent accidental interaction.

Best Practices
Assign different functions to each slider (e.g., Cross-Section on the left, Transparency on the right) for maximum utility.
Use Occlusion Adjustment during alignment tasks or when navigating dense environments with mixed digital and physical elements.
