AR Options
The AR Options (Fig. 1) menu contains the following settings:
Pit View
The Pit View setting allows the user to create a virtual pit in AR View (Fig. 2). The user can configure the Pit View settings to change the diameter, depth, and visual appearance of the pit. This feature can be useful for showing data such as underground utilities within the dimensions of the virtual pit.

DTM
The DTM setting allows the user to select which DTM is being used in vSite AR.
- By default, Bing will be used for the DTM
- If required, users can add custom DTMs in vSite Admin Portal
Projections
The Projections setting controls which projections are displayed to the user in AR View. The following options are available for projections:
- 3D: All 3D data will be projected without surface lines
- 3D Above-Ground: Only above-ground 3D data will be projected. Below-ground data will not be projected
- Surface Lines: Lines on the surface depicting the horizontal location of 3D data will be projected. These lines appear as a dashed line along the surface
-
3D and Surface Lines: All 3D data will be projected along with surface lines. This is the default option
Tip: Below-ground data can appear to move with the user due to the Parallax Effect. Using surface lines can help the user confirm that the location of underground data is correct. Read more about the Parallax Effect here.
Surface Shading
Surface Shading allows the user to change how objects are represented in AR View. The following options are available for surface shading:
- None: No alternate surface shading will be applied
- Grid: A grid pattern will be applied to 3D objects
- High Contrast: Sharp colours and edges will be applied to 3D objects
