The Options Menu in vSite AR (Fig. 1) allows users to tailor their experience across three main categories: GNSS Options, Scene Options, and System Options.
Fig. 1
GNSS Options
Access the GNSS Options menu to configure location and positioning settings.
The GNSS settings determine the user’s default positioning method. This setting is saved between sessions.
Tilt Compensation
- Disabled by default.
- When enabled, a calibration popup appears showing pitch and roll values.
- Tap Set to save once the proper values are shown.
- Helps maintain accurate object alignment when the device is tilted.
GNSS Warnings
Changes which GNSS warning messages are displayed to the user. There are three options:
- All: Displays all warning messages.
- None: Does not display any warning messages.
- Data Collection: displays only warnings related to data collection.
RTK Settings
- Opens a submenu for RTK configuration.
- Enter necessary details such as Domain/IP, Port, Username, and Password.
- Click here for more on GNSS setup and configuration.
Use GNSS Elevation
- Available for all positioning modes except “vGIS/QR.”
- Uses elevation data provided by the GNSS device.
GNSS Pole Height
- Input the antenna height in centimeters (relative to ground level).
Offsets
- Adjust the offsets between your camera and GNSS device, either via sliders or by double-tapping and manually entering values.
Scene Options
Use the Scene Options menu to adjust how AR content appears in your environment.
Selection Distance
Defines the maximum viewable range for 3D assets.
- Default: 125m / 400ft
- Reduce this value if models take longer to load.
BIM Projections
- Enabled by default.
- Allows BIM models to be displayed in AR. Can be disabled as needed.
Depth Indicators
- Default: Surface Offset
- Displays object depth when targeting sub-surface assets.
- Measurement reference can be: Digital Terrain Model (DTM), Predefined Depth, or None (to disable the feature).
Projection Type
- Default: Dashed lines
- Determines how surface projections are displayed. Surface projections are lines that show where above or below ground attributes are relative to the ground surface.
- Optionally change to solid surface lines for underground pipes.
Projection Autosize
- Expands the width of projections to visually represent the actual asset size.
Proximity Indicator
- Dynamically adjusts projection brightness based on user proximity: Closer = brighter, Farther = dimmer.
Object Outline
- Enabled by default.
- Highlights objects with a blue outline when targeted by the crosshair.
